Eddelmon Child Development Center

About Us

We are a Christian-oriented state-licensed child care – preschool for children 20 months to 8th grade and we are open year-round.

We Believe in Building Futures

Our teachers facilitate a hands-on approach to learning by offering a variety of activities to stimulate interest through the use of age and developmentally appropriate materials as well as taking into consideration the individual needs of each child.

Healthy Image

We believe that a healthy self-concept is a child’s most valuable asset. Every aspect of our child care and preschool program is concerned with encouraging a child’s positive image of himself/herself.

Participation

We believe that young children learn best by doing. Our age-appropriate curriculum is stimulating and is geared toward concrete, hands-on exploration. We encourage creative expression and independence.

Building Experience

We believe that a child’s early experiences provide the foundation for a lifetime. Our program will provide experiences for a child to grow socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually. It is important for parents to understand that all children will receive Christian teaching as a part of this program through daily prayer, Bible stories, and activities through reading and videos.

We structure our program and curriculum in order to achieve the following goals:

  • Reinforce Christian principles of sharing, caring, and loving.

  • Foster a positive self-concept in children.

  • Expose children to different ethnic cultures.

  • Encourage children to think, reason, and experiment.

  • Encourage independence.

  • Develop social skills.

  • Encourage language development.

  • Enhance physical development and skills.

  • Encourage and demonstrate sound health, safety, and nutritional practices.
